Update #1

Hi everybody, I'm so happy to receive all positive feedback so far =) 8 people have responded, and we have some dates which kept appearing:
December 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31.
So NSmen, please try to take leave on these dates, and everyone who has holiday plans, please plan around it!

New activities:
Sheryl has an idea, which is to have a videoconference with the people who're overseas. I think it's wonderful, and everyone can really see each other again, abroad or not. We'll need to arrange a time to do this.

Zebra suggested crazy orientation games. Hmm it sounds like fun, but I haven't played any crazy orientation games in my university yet. Maybe the NTU/NUS people can blog and put forward some of the things you did. (Hopefully, it doesn't evoke painful memories =p)

LOGISTICS

Food (brought up by grandmaster sotongz):
We've several options when it comes to food...

1) Catered food
- Mini buffet (price ranges from $10 - 12/person)
- Fast-food delivery (price ranges from $6 - $8)

2) Self-service
- BBQ
- Cook

I'm estimating that the price per person if we buy our own ingredients is around $4 per meal. Actually cooking will be quite fun too... it's healthier than BBQ and we can also see our classmates' creativity and skill with food. Those who can cook will be the chef, those who can't will chop veggies and wash dishes. Sounds like a class activity to me ^_^ For the quantity, I'm suggesting buying enough for brunch, dinner and supper.

Please consider if you would like to have purely catered, purely self service, or a combination of catered n self-service options. We'll probably include this in one final form for the class.

Venue
Aloha Loyang is a very nice place for a class chalet...because it is so huge. =0
We would probably need Ms. Hia's help to secure that place again. If anyone else has any lobang for big and reasonably priced chalets, post something!

Roles
I've come up with some groups that we need everyone to be a part of. This makes everything easier for everyone, so think about which you want to join...This will be included in the final form too.
  • Food squad (In charge of buying things on the class shopping list and carrying them back. Also replenishes drinks if we run out. 4/5 people)
  • Clean-up squad (In charge of the last day of cleaning up, does the checking for the item check-list. 4 people)
  • Waterbombs squad (In charge of making waterbombs, putting them in place and clearing up after the bombings. 3/4 people)

Of course, it'll be nice if everybody can help out with other groups' duty ^_^

What to bring, who to bring what

A list of things that are needed for the chalet will be placed on the blog, after the final form has been filled up. Then people who have those things can volunteer to bring, please? =)

That's about it for now. Tag if you think you have something u'd like to be placed in the final form!
