Yay..quite a few pple from class went to watch bball match today..though we managed to catch the guys' match only..though they did not emerge triumphant in the end (which proves my theory once again that which ever team i support will lose..sighz...), i thot they put up a really good fight..it was a really close match...
One thing i noticed though...hc's cheering seem to pale in comparison with that of tj..must admit that they seemed more intimidating and united than us...perhaps it's coz we arent very familiar with the cheers, but i think it was also becoz of the lack in enthusiasim on the spectatators' part...it's quite sad actually, when pple juz can't be bothered to cheer..and there's this girl behind us (dressed in home clothes, dunno from where) who keeps whining (according to ray)..dunno why she went there in the first place..
Funny how they always play the national anthem after every tournament...wonder what's the purpose of it..perhaps to remind everyone that even though we are from opposing teams, we are still part of the same family? or to instil in us some patriotic idealism? don't know the reason behind this (maybe someone can enlighten me?), but i thot it really showed how the "same" we all actually are, regardless of the school we come from, that not many people actually sing the national anthem..it was juz loud music from the player and everyone standing like blocks...(me included...hee..)
When the schools took turns to sing their school song, the situation was quite different though..I think it was one of the loudest renditions of our school song i ever heard...perhaps due to the atmosphere, or simply because we didnt want to "lose face" in the presence of other schools..hmm...seems like difference breeds unity..
Whatever the case is, i juz want to say: hc bball teams rock! :)
